Three numbers for explaining solar payback

Most homeowners do not think in kilowatt-hours. Three numbers answer what they are asking: what the system costs after any incentives they qualify for, how much it should save each month based on their own bills, and the year the savings add up to the cost.
Production depends on the weather, and electricity prices change, so a range with its assumptions stated is more useful than one confident number.
